Golfers across the Chicago District have waited a long offseason to return to courses around the area. The green grass, warm air and time spent with friends and family are a welcome reminder of why we fell in love with the game. While CDGA members look to regain that power fade or that sweet putting stroke, some may need a quick brush up on the Rules of Golf - for when things don’t go as planned.
The CDGA, an Allied Golf Association of the USGA, is proud to serve as your local Rules of Golf experts and is committed to helping members, member clubs and the golfing community as a whole navigate those tricky Rules of Golf situations. The first place a golfer will want to visit is the CDGA’s Rules of Golf Hub, housed on CDGA.org. Here you will find various updated Rules of Golf reference materials, including videos, infographics, virtual lessons and more. Additionally, the CDGA Championship department is willing and able to answer any questions you may have.
Ahead of the active golf season, the USGA recently administered two free USGA/AGA Rules Webinars, with recordings made available for those unable to attend. These webinars, run by USGA Rules Staff, consisted of in-depth discussions on navigating Free Relief and Penalty Relief.
